At our third meet-up in the “Designing the Organisation” event series, ethnologist and organisation consultant Dr Bernhard Krusche presented his consulting model – the Roadmap Innovation Helix – to the community, provoking lively discussion.
This roadmap, comprising the three areas of Strategy, Design and Value Creation, combines the relevant issues at the core of innovation development. Bernhard Krusche is confident that it is only through the interplay of these issues that change can be achieved. Design thinking alone as a method is just as ineffective as a pure business strategy. Krusche believes that today, innovators are organisational designers. Consultants who bring these skills to the table and also recognise those who share this way of thinking in the client’s organisation will be more likely to overcome silos.
In response to the many questions from participants at the “In search of the right organisational design” meet-up, we will be holding a workshop in our agency in December on using tools from the innovation helix. This training workshop for the community will take a closer look at the tools you need to become an organisational designer.
